Washington, DC... Online registration is now available at www.SINC-Conference.com for the 2010 Sports Industry Networking and Career (SINC) Conference, to be held March 5-6, 2010 at The George Washington University in Washington, DC.

For 2010, the SINC Conference has created the “DC Sports Experience,” a unique opportunity for attendees to “experience” Washington, DC sports to the fullest. Following a full day of panels and keynotes on Friday, March 5, attendees are invited to the Verizon Center, host to the NHL’s Capitals, NBA’s Wizards, and WNBA’s Mystics, Georgetown University men’s basketball, concerts and over 220 events and concerts each year, for the SINC Conference Networking Reception. The event is an opportunity for attendees to speak one-on-one with top sports industry executives, as well as to meet and interact with peers, the future leaders of the sports industry.

Following the reception, all attendees are invited to the Washington Wizards game, as they take on the Milwaukee Bucks at the Verizon Center (ticket included in registration fee). Discounted tickets will also be available to attendees interested in seeing the Washington Capitals (against the New York Rangers) on Saturday night, following the second day of the SINC Conference. Further opportunities and events will be included in the “DC Sports Experience,” to be announced in the weeks to come.

The leading sports career conference once again invites students, recent graduates and career changers to join the top decision makers in the sports industry for a unique conference experience. Over the two-day period, sports business executives participate as keynotes, panelists, and take part in roundtable networking lunches, giving attendees a VIP pass into the world of sports.

In 2009, the SINC Conference welcomed over 200 attendees and 100 executives for the event emphasizing education, job placement, and networking. Keynote speakers included Tom Wade, CMO of the PGA Tour, and David Haggerty, President of Head Tennis and a USTA Board Member. Highlights of the event also included on-site interviews with over a dozen organizations such as Octagon, Washington Redskins, DC United, Tiger Woods Foundation and Sports Fan Live, and a Friday evening networking reception held on Capitol Hill.

Lisa Delpy Neirotti of The George Washington University and
Jeremy Silkowitz of Swanson Communications Announce
Sports Career Conference

Washington, DC…The Sports Industry Networking and Career Conference (SINC) has been announced at The George Washington University in Washington, DC. The George Washington University had hosted the sports career conference SEME over the last five years, and the rebranded conference will continue to feature over 75 top sports industry executives speaking as keynotes and panelists. The 2009 SINC Conference, a two-day experience emphasizing education, job placement and networking, welcomes students, young professionals, and career changers seeking to break into or advance in the sports industry.

“The name of the event is the only thing that will change. The 2009 SINC Conference will continue to provide attendees with unique access to the leading decision makers in the sports industry today,” said Lisa Delpy Neirotti, head of the Sports Management Program at The George Washington University. “When laying out the agenda for this year’s conference, we went one step further to create additional opportunities for attendees to network, whether it is with executives or fellow peers. For those seeking a career in sports, this is an event that should not be missed.”

Over the past five years, Lisa Delpy Neirotti, The George Washington University, and Jeremy Silkowitz, Manager at Swanson Communication, have led the development and growth of SEME. The two principle organizers have rebranded the conference but will continue to emphasis the key elements of networking and job placement, and build upon the years of success.

“The conference provides those in attendance with opportunities to learn, network, and pursue jobs within the sports industry,” said Jeremy Silkowitz, Executive Director, SINC Conference, and Manager at Swanson Communications. “I attended an event just like the SINC Conference when I was a senior in college. I know the type of impact that this type of event can have on an attendee’s future as they pursue a career in this highly competitive field. It’s all about making lasting connections, and this conference gives everyone a chance to do just that.”

“I have attended the sports conference at George Washington University as a master's degree student in the sports management program and for the past couple of years as someone who works in the sports industry. I got an incredible amount out of the conference, most notably, my job!  I met my future boss Michael Wilbon when he was the keynote at the conference and I started working for him two months later.  Anyone interested in working in sports should attend to hear about the sports world from some of the leaders in the industry and to take advantage of the one-of-a-kind networking opportunities.”
