Sports Industry Networking and Career (SINC) Conference
Announces
New 2012 Date
The Sports Industry Networking and Career (SINC) Conference will be held February 10-11, 2012 at The George Washington University in Washington, DC. The leading sports career conference, which has continued to host the biggest names in sports business, once again invites students, recent graduates and career changers to join the top decision makers in the sports industry for a unique conference experience.
Attendees are given unprecedented access to sports business executives, who participate as keynotes, panelists, take part in roundtable networking lunches, provide insight on the latest trends in business, as well as advice on entry into the highly competitive industry. In 2012, the event date will be moved up one month from its normal March date, which will allow attendees to get a jump on summer internships and job interviews.
“The SINC Conference continues to provide attendees with incredible access to the leaders in the sports business world, and our 2012 event will be no different,” said Lisa Delpy Neirotti, SINC Conference Co-Founder and Director of the Sports Management Program at The George Washington University.
In 2011, the SINC Conference featured the most prominent figures in sports, including keynote speaker Michael Robichaud, Vice President of Global Sponsorships for MasterCard Worldwide, and panelists George McPhee, General Manager for the Washington Capitals, and Kevin Payne, President of DC United. The conference was highlighted by a special reunion between the founders of first even sports marketing firm ProServ, who spoke with conference attendees about evolutions in the sports marketing field over the last thirty years.
Attendees of the 2011 conference also took advantage of lunch networking roundtables with industry executives on both event days, along with on-site interviews with over a dozen companies. The SINC Conference was capped off by a trip to Washington Nationals Park on day two, during which attendees toured the entire MLB facility.
“Building on our reputation, and offering unmatched networking and educational opportunities year after year is what keeps attendees coming back to the SINC Conference,” said Jeremy Silkowitz, SINC Conference Co-Founder. “What we offer is access; that unique chance for those who want to break into the sports industry to have one-on-one interactions with its top decision makers. The event is all about networking and our goal is to connect attendees with the job of their dreams.”
The conference has set the bar as the place to turn to for education, networking and placement in the sports industry. Renowned figures in the business including Randy Levine, President of the New York Yankees, Joel Segal, one of the NFL’s leading sports agents, and Tom Wade, Chief Marketing Officer for the PGA Tour, have visited the conference within the last two years alone. Over one hundred executives representing entities such as the NFL, NASCAR, NFLPA, MLB, Octagon, Washington Redskins, Baltimore Ravens, Pepsi, AOL Sports, TNT, ESPN and HBO return to the SINC Conference year after year to share their insights on the growth of the sports business sector with attendees from around the country.
